I’ve been a bad blogger. I have been busy with work, and the new house has been having a few minor tempter tantrums, but we’ve shown it some tough love and gotten it pretty much worked out. Although Dr. Geek suffered a fat lip in the process of installing our custom closet organizers. One of the shelves got away from him as he lifted it into position and it knocked him right in the mouth. Luckily no stitches or dental work were required.
I have also been doing some cropping and done some fun layouts from our Disneyland trip this summer and plan on cropping this Friday night. I’ve been trying, with no success, to use the SIStv layout widget to post links from my on-line portfolio directly here. Alas it hasn’t been productive. I need to get some expert WordPress help to see if I can crack this.
I participated in the Tag You’re It Inspiration Relay over at Scraphappy. I can’t wait to see how they all turned out.
Go Gingerbread-girls Go!
So that’s about it.
Our first Haloween in our new house! We went to the pumpkin patch last week and carved these tonight. I used a template for the Mickey outline and the owl. Dr. Geek did a traditional jack-o-lantern freehand. I think they turned out great!. I also found some cute lanterns for our front walk way. It was fun getting everything ready!
Last night I organized the oodles of pix from our trip to Disneyland in June. I’ve done some 12×12 layouts for my chronological album as well as for the brwon leather Disneyland album I bought at World of Disney. I’d post a picture of it but currently it is still in a box somewhere and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere on-line.
I did an awesome page based on a scraplift someone did of an Ali Edwards patterned paper challenge. I also did another layout using this sketch that Ali did for Pencil Lines. Yes, I’m diggin’ on Ali lately. I also made super simple layouts using this paper. I used the gift credit I won from Disneyscrappers yahoo group.
I took the time to organize my pix by day and then added the memorabilia that coincides with each day. In the past I’ve done my layouts based on lands, this time I’m going to do a day-by-day album. I have a 9×9 Heidi Swapp album that I made at the Scrapbook Expo this year that I plan on using. I’ve done an 8×8 album before using the Deluxe Designs color blocking templates. I spent a good portion of last night finding sketches that I can tweak to meet my needs. Anyone know where there are 9×9 sketches posted? When doing an album like this I find that sketches, color blocking templates or the Pages by Design system to be a major help!
I hope to complete this album soon, and then tackle the 4 months of pix I have to do something with. I also need to “stage” some pix for Thursday and Friday for my Picture-a-Day challenge with my Heidi Swapp class. The time just got away from me.
Today I spent the day at the Northern California SIStv crop. Thanks Suzy! It was so great to sit down an create again. I completed the project below, and I got the cards done for the Year to Remember card Swap! Yay me! Last night I also completed the October layout for AYTR and started the album for the photo a day challenge. I can’t wait to get our house set up to take some more pix for the mini album I made as well as do some more home decor items.
Love, love, love being crafty!
Dr. Geek & I are slowly getting our cozy home livable. It will still be a while for us to stop tripping over boxes and having conversations that start with,”Honey, where is the …?”
I’ve been trying to keep up with the Photo a Day challenge from my Heidi Swapp class. I got my scrapbook area mostly unpacked Thursday night and I’m itching to do something creative!
Sunday I’m going to the SIStv crop at a local store so that will be a welcome adventure. I have a few small projects to work on as well as this fun item and this mini book I got at Target. So after our trip to the pumpkin patch today I should have some fun pix to fill it!.
